An Ancestral Cleansing Tradition Rooted in Curanderismo

Growing up with curanderismo, limpias, barridas, sobadas and traditional remedies were part of how we were cared for. These practices were passed down through my abuelas and the women of my family.
There was susto (shock). There was mal de ojo (evil eye). There were nightmares, envidias (jealousy), attachments, heaviness, and things we picked up along the way—energies that seemed to stick with us. Different ailments needed different remedies, and the women in my family knew what each one called for.
I created this offering as a personal homage to those traditions—bringing together one offering from each side of my family and honoring the women who passed them down.
It is my way of carrying those ancestral teachings forward through the curanderismo I practice today.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Each session begins with a plática—a moment for us to talk about what has brought you here.
From there, you receive your cleansing—an experience intended to help clear what you may be carrying, create space for release, and leave you feeling lighter and renewed.
People often describe the experience as moving through a sense of grounding, release and ultimately relief—feeling lighter, refreshed and more connected to themselves afterward.
THE READING
An important component of the limpia is the reading of the huevo. After the cleansing, we sit together and I share what the huevo reveals.
My beloved aunt, Inesita, was especially gifted at reading them. I learned from her, and I continue to deepen that understanding with every limpia I do.
WHEN YOU MAY FEEL CALLED TO A LIMPIA
You may be moving through an emotionally heavy period, feel like you're carrying energies that don't feel like your own, or be recovering from a difficult experience.
Some people also choose a limpia before or after travel, during major transitions, or whenever they feel they have picked up heaviness along the way.
