Stargazing, Download your favorite SKY MAP ahead of time.
There is a Vons, Stater Bros, Walmart, Ross and Marshalls. There is no Trader Joe's. The last one is in Redlands
*********GASOLINE - The closest gas station is 9 miles away. Please refuel at the 76 Gas station at 61920 Twentynine Palms Highway, Joshua Tree, CA 92252 as you exit the Joshua Tree village so you don't get stuck with an empty tank.
There is a Dollar General about 300 ft from the gas station for your last minute stop.
Once you pass the Dollar General, it will be a 3.5 miles stretch with little lighting. Sunfair Rd. will come right after the Side Road - yellow sign.
Sunfair Rd is a 5 mile fun ride with lots of dips, If you travel at night it will be dark so watch your speed. Take it all the way to the end to the Joshua Tree RV entrance. Come through the driveway and park on the parking lot at the left of the STOP sign. I'll come get you.

If you're arriving Friday

WE HAVE CHOICES:

Sleep in your car or pitch a tent here at the lake camping grounds. YES, we have REAL bathrooms and showers for your convenience and you can park next to your spot
AIRBNB - There aren't many motel options so your best bet is an AIRBNB. Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley are next to each other. Stay away from Landers and/or Flamingo Heights (it's too far and some of the roads aren't the best)

Make it a good one!

The Good Home is a small boutique hotel with a natural hot springs pool. If you're interested in spending a couple of hours while you're in the area or maybe booking a stay, give them a visit, they gave me great service when I visited them but there are a lot of spas in that area.

FYI: Desert Hot Springs is at the bottom of hill about 45 minutes from here. I would suggest you plan your visit before or after Joshua Tree.
